I'm on my second round of BCG part of my maitenance course which should be 3 years. However I was told yesterday that they reducing this to 1 year because of what's going on meaning covid I presume. I will still have my regular cystoscopy and a ct scan once a year. Was wandering if anyone else been told this.
Hi Anrews, in June my urology team gave me the option of stopping or continuing with maintenance (after dose 18 ) because I had already had 2 reoccurrences I chose to continue. I live in a rural location and it's not difficult to self-isolate during treatments and for two weeks after. CNS supported this decision and I soldier on. If you aren't happy with the decision can you discuss with your CNS? Best wishes.
Yes I only had 15 BCGs, due at the time to a shortage, but was told a years worth is enough and a lot kinder on the bladder, I must say I’ve had no problem at all and been clear for 8 years next month, I have check ups every 6 months. Grade 3 pta. Good luck x
