Ahoy!
I hope you are all still above ground and surviving the pestilence.
I am very flattered that some of you have missed me. I decided to have a month off Macmillan due to moderator censorship of reasoned argument, something that is increasingly common in this bonkers world. Those who think they are in control believe they can shut down those who disagree with them. As Corporal Jones said, 'They dont like it up'em!'
Anyway, all well here thank you. I am most certainly not in favour of closing pubs at 22:00 as pubs have been the most regulated buildings since lock down ended on 4 July. It's just an excuse for doing something constructive like test & trace.
If anyone has had a stupid ETRO traffic scheme imposed on their town, please let me know - I've become an expert in ETRO lately.
I've just had my first flu jab - sharp scratch my bottom! And, curiously, I've been offered a telephone stoma consultation - wondering how that might work...should I put my stoma on the microphone so the nurse can listen to it? Oh well!
KBO as the great man said,

Welcome Back Old Crusty Bladder, Glad you have not lost your sense of humour or purpose. We had our flu jabs in our local church last week. Here in Walton Le Dale and Preston Bicycle lanes recently opened with road closures are causing angst amongst drivers. Not quite sure about restrictions here they appear to change every week. Tried to download the test and trace app but guess what? My phone is too old and I cannot download the app. Mmmmm

Glad to catch up with you CB, and true to form you've made me giggle. Welcome back. x
And not only that, I know domestic abuse has sadly increased very badly in covid times, but these new popups that I've 'used a word that worries them' are a nanny state step too far IMHO. One should be able to opt out of them if happy and safe. Chance'd be a fine thing with Mr D eight miles away in hospital even if he was of a brutal disposition. Now someone's going to tell me off for joking about a serious subject.....

Glad to see you back CB, was getting worried there, PHEW!!!!
I absolutely hate when they say sharp scratch too. If only they could just say that it will hurt, & we're going to miss the vein, again, & it will not be pleasant at all, so we shall try & try & try again until your arm is black for a week & very painful for a few days. Sorry went off on one there.
I so agree, my poor OH had now got his THIRD PICC line because his veins are now so impossible to cannulate. But not for want of trying till he's been black and blue also.
Strangely nobody has given us the warnings eg no gymnastics esp not such as tying own shoelaces, as PICC line- below-heart could supposedly result in dislodging/trouble. Anyone out there know more about this, I imagine some of you may have had them?? And he likewise DETESTS being told sharp scratch. Maybe next time someone does it to me I shall choose to re-educate them on the basis of what everyone here says.
Totally agree with Teasswill's points too.

Welcome back CB, you were missed.
i had a telephone consultation for my asthma check a couple of months ago, the usual scripted questions, didn’t even ask me to blow into my peak flow meter and tell her the reading. Obviously could tell by my breathing how I was.
My flu jab really hurt as well!

'Telling by your breathing how you are' sounds just like the true horror stories being told on the benefitsandwork.co.uk members forum of some telephone assessments for Personal Independence Payment [PIP] claims and renewals being conducted by IAS [ATOS] and Maximus on behalf of the DWP. If you or anyone you know are either on DLA due to be moved to PIP, trying to get PIP, or struggling with ESA issues I cannot recommend this site too highly.
You remind me of about 20 years ago when they tried to say our daughter then at primary school had asthma. We did the week's peak flow graph and it didn't fit the pattern in their own leaflet. The real reason was a kind of growing pains in the ribs related to hypermobility. [She later got a diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome].

I accused them of censoring public debate about the changes to the forum format by freezing the posts. That's bordering on Orwellian and quite unnecessary. As someone (was it the One Minute Manager?) said, feedback is the breakfast of champions but this lot dislike constructive criticism.
We'll see how long this post stays up
I may appear to be listening but in my head I'm all at sea.
