Hi,
Hope everyone is ok and doing well in these troubled times
Anyway, I have my routine (is there such a thing?) follow up next Tuesday (6/10/20). I have a CT scan the day before at my Local Hospital and a follow up with Consultant at Barts the next day (both hospitals are part of the same group).
I have requested that the consult take place over the phone, as I can't have anyone go with me and would prefer a phone consult. I don't need a physical examination and I understand that the policy is to do as many consults without a face to face. I have been clear for three years, so I am not waiting on any results ans I'm not undergoing any treatment.
I have tried three times to get a "yes", or a "no", but no one has replied to my e mails. I have called and was told that it was policy to do phone consults and if goes head, they would contact me 48 hours before. I had a similar situation with UCHL this year and got a reply almost instantly.
I really would like to get it sorted, any ideas?
Hi Ian, good to hear that you are doing well. Have you tried ringing the consultant’s secretary to get an answer or is that who you have been emailing? Other than that do you have a specialist nurse who you could contact?
It does seem to make sense that you have a telephone consultation in view if the present situation but other than the above suggestions perhaps you will just have to wait until 48 before and see what happens.
Best wishes Luce
Hi Luce,
The problem I have is that my Specialist Nurse is at UCHL, which is under a different trust. I did have one at Barts, but haven't been in contact with her for about two years. Quite often I had leave a message of voice mail, or the phone would go dead.
I'll try getting through to my Consultant's Secretary again, this time by phone, but I think will also consider calling PALS (Already e-mailed them, but no redponse as yet), but at least they might be able to give tbe correct cintact points. To be honest, I've really had to make contact in the past, as everything has generally gone smoothly.
Basically, I would just like them to know that this is how I would like to proceed. I am certain it will go ok, but it takes the anxiety out of things.
Thanks
