Inexcusable website !!

Tried replying to someone on Private message and still its impossible. I gave feed back about this ages ago and several times. We are like a captive audience  we rely on this site and dont want to be kicked off it for getting angry but if this was a normal company it would have been sorted months ago. I notice the donation page is working just fine. I am obviously grateful it is but if this has no faults why is the communication side of things lacking? Being told that you're working on things is no longer good enough, you are failing people that need to be able to communicate. How far off sorting is the Private message problem? Lets start getting deadlines for getting things sorted like you'd expect from any other company!!

  • Come on MacMillan! You can do better than this! The site has gone from an incredible support system, second to none, to a shadow of its former self. This is third world stuff and is really affecting your reputation and, I guess, your ability to attract donations. People depended on this site. You are letting us, and yourselves, down. Pathetic.

  • Indeed.  I've just waited about a minute for log on to work. - though it was quick earlier on today. This certainly puts me off, when I was able to stay signed in before. I was told this is a security feature to protect sensitive information on shared devices.

  • The site has just been down for an hour or so for further maintenance. We'll see if anything has improved. Best wishes.

  • I did email techs asking them to read this and the 'messages' thread and added a few more comments re getting straight to here, and have had a very decent reply. Here's hoping.

     I can sympathise with you Curly Sue, I suddenly stopped getting email notifications about 3 /4 weeks ago, hence the late reply. They are supposed to be working on it but I don’t hold out much hope! X

  • They do seem keen for comment direct - I was asked to email some info about device & browser in use with my logging in delay. Not encouraging though is it, to install an upgrade which promptly makes so much worse - indicates poorly designed , ill thought out software.

    They seem to have gone across to something based on Microsoft software or servers. Why the *&#@ didn't they stick to the long established forum software producers who actually know what they are doing.

    I used to be able to log in on my Amazon Kindle; so much more convenient than my laptop. I can't do that now. I was told that the new set up would not work with the Kindle browser. Oh well.

    You've just reminded me. I used to get email notifications but they've stopped now.
