Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.

  • Hi Phil,Perhaps you won’t lose all of your hair.My neighbours was a different colour when hers grew back after chemo.I hope your chemo won’t be too bad for you.Watching the tennis.Feeling really tired today.Jane x

  • Thank you Jane my hair is grey i said to the chemo nurse when it  grows back will it be dark it use to be black she said i don't think soBlush enjoy your weekend Phil x

  • My partners hair was black but now he shaves it all off as he is going bald,I much preferred the bald look to no hair. When I was born my hair was black but that all fell out and it grew back red.I ended up with brown hair but it’s going grey now.x

  • Hopefully you won't lose all your hair if it's Gem/Cis but some of it does come out in clumps or on the pillow Afterwards it should come back fairly soon. During a heatwave is better than winter. By November I was glad of a hat indoors.

  • Mine did come back curly though. And since 3 doses of  immunotherapy, some of the old light brown is back and mixed in with the grey.

  • Hi latestart thanks for your info all the best Phil.

  • Hi Phil

Gem/cis isn't the most powerful chemo.  I had slight hair thinning at the sides that wasn't visible to myself it was only brought to my attention when my wife mentioned it. You may experience this yourself but I doubt you will loose all your hair as the nurse suggests

    Best wishes

  • Thanks Mark ive had a crew cut my wife hates it says i look like a convict Smiley all the best Phil.

  • Afternoon All. Hope everyone is well. I've just collected my new free hearing aids from SpecS. I didn't think my hearing was too bad, but now I can literally hear a pin drop. I think they will take a bit of getting used to as I keep hearing strange sounds and can hear people talking from across the street. Very tiny as well. Sun out here in the NW after lots of rain recently. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Rily, welcome to the club. They said 2 weeks to get used to them when I had mine first. If you watch TV with others they'll be sighing with relief that they can turn the sound down now (when I got mine I was shocked at how loud the family had had to bear it for my sake!).

    All the best
