Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
Raining again.Have done a lot more clearing and tidying in the room of doom utility room today. There is enough packing material and paint to open a shop The right side of the room is full of items to go to the tip, just have to wait for a lift there now.Love to you all Jane xx
Hi Jane, have you tries using freegle and freecycle to give away packing materials and paint? As far as I can judge these are usually popular, as people need them for moving house and/or trying to freshen up on little money.
Also does your council take shredded paper? If not people do offer it on freegle/freecycle as some people use it for animal bedding or to mix into compost.
Hope your should soon improves, is it a consequence of your clearing activities?
best,
Denby
Hi Denby,I haven’t yet but I may well do when I’m nearer to packing up everything.I’m not sure how much packing material I will need yet.I should be able to rehome the shredded paper. This batch is not suitable for bedding as it’s manky and smells of tcp.Mum hated the smell of dettol so used tcp.The smell gets everywhere not my favourite aroma.I’ve got to go through all the paint.I have put some aside which I’m taking for the new place.I don’t know why my shoulder is bad.I haven’t done anything to cause it but it may be arthritis.I fell down the stairs years ago and injured it then.I had treatment at the chiropractors.I will get it checked out though as it’s been hurting for a few weeks.I hope all is well with you and Mr D ? Love Jane xx
View from my bedroom on Saturday.I’ve sent in a request to the health centre asking whether someone can look at my painful shoulder.I have a limited range of movement in it and it’s not my dominant arm.Spent the weekend sorting out all my photographs as that was a job I had been putting off.The last of the sheet music will be gone at the weekend.Love to all Jane xx
My usual reply to such kindly enquiries: It's not me it's the rest of 'them'. Ie I am OK myself, but need 25 hours in every day due to pressure of ills of family members, and the local planning battle to save quality of life for quite literally the rest of Mr D's life. [He's 80 and the monster development is predicted to take 15-20 years to build never mind permanent traffic chaos].
He's got to have another TURBT after 5 years as an MRI shows a thickened area of bladder wall, lovely consultant says, we don't want to start messing about with your prostate without checking, as it's hard to distinguish on cystoscopy. Maybe eventually we will get some relief form the nocturia disturbance...
I am frankly much more worried about my sister who had a nervous breakdown after being widowed last year, and is getting slowly worse not better. 230 miles the far side of London, she has no other family and all I can do is phone..I have fair support networks for myself and so does she, but while she has carers 3x daily, the NHS and social services seem unable to help her improve.
Thanks for caring it means a lot, all you lovely folk
