How are we all doing ?

I’m not sure where I will be going.I’ll be staying within a 20 mile or so radius though as still want to be able to see my partner and sister.I can’t drive so that is a big disadvantage.It was never a problem until recent years.

Hi All. Got a message from GP surgery today to book my annual health check. Never heard of it never mind had one. Booked online for a face to face appointment. Can't remember the last time I actually saw a GP, Not sure if I will see a GP or a nurse though. Best wishes.

Here we need one of those 'wry smile' emojis...Three times my neighbour or her kids have been fobbed off by the same practice nurse and three times they have ended up at A&E and told they should have been there sooner...Mustn't frighten anyone though so hope it proves useful. I got a health check, oh I don't know, because I turned 50 or something. Chance'd be a fine thing now it would be more use to me...

I’m with you there.It makes me laugh when dr’s say don’t google and then hand you some info from the internet.Not much chance of seeing a dr here it’s always a nurse or health coach.I did get sent straight to A & E when I did get a face to face with a gp.Jane x

Hi rily, have you just turned 60 or started taking blood pressure or cholesterol meds? I get called in every year for a blood test to check my prescriptions are correct. I see either a nurse or a healthcare assistant they check blood pressure, weight etc. No doctors involved. Twice after these checks I've had a phone call from the practice pharmacist telling me she was adjusting my medication.

They used to do annual health checks here but they stopped them.They picked up a couple of issues with mum so were useful.

I've just turned 73 so don't know why they are taking an interest in me now. Latest at our surgery, you can't phone for an appointment anymore. Phone and give your details, then wait for a triage nurse to call back to assess if you need to see a doctor. Best wishes.

When I contacted my drs pre cancer to ask who my dr was, as we have had a lot of change in the surgery, I was told a name, I then asked if I could make an appointment to which I was told he doesn’t actually see patients as he deals with paperwork only??? So I will never see him face to face!
