Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.

  • Sounds positive Jane. Can you do anything by way of batch cooking to freeze or similar beforehand so that you maximise the sorting time available with your aunt?

  • Hi Denby,I have food in the freezer.I’ll buy a few extras and I think we should be fine.My aunt is not a big eater.I expect I will have to go to bed early and rise early. My aunt is strict and you usually have to fit in with her rather than the other way around.Having said that we are close though I may need a rest after she returns home ! We haven’t made any firm arrangements yet.She will be visiting her brother before heading here.He has recently had a stroke and we are all concerned about him.How are you both ? Love Jane

  • Having a tea break as I carried up a heavy sink from the garden.I swear my sisters boxes are breeding. There are at least 16 more under the stairs and there are 8 boxes of film magazines in the utility room.Once the sink has been cleaned and the tiles boxed up I can contact the reclamation people.I hope they can take some of it off my hands.I’m trying to make up for a lazy day yesterday.Sun here but a cold wind.Love to you all Jane xx

  • It was nice and sunny here an hour ago, but turned a bit cloudy. Had good walk though, finally shrugged off Covid.

  • Hi, at LAST I got a clear test this morning. have read some very interesting bits on Pubmed ie not woo-woo stuff, about lysine, arginine and calcium. As a result I skipped my usual calcium supplement last night and will half-dose for a couple of days. Especially if we do look after our chickenpoxy grandson all day Tuesday, don't fancy catching that and no idea if I had it as a child. I didn't get various standard childhood things when both my older and younger sister did, no idea why. Unfortunately taking lysine brings back the gout in my ankle, but I will certainly be mindful again for a few days about too much arginine-rich food. Though I did eat my muesli this morning, couldn't be bothered to cook a bowl of rice instead. But might do that for supper instead of bread and jam. Hmm.

You watch those pot sinks Jane, sounds risky to me! So hope the reclaim people will want it all and make a good offer.

  • Hooray,a clear test I’m pleased for you.Not much mask wearing around here but I’m sticking to all the old measures.Having a look on line to see who might like some of my photographic collection. Then there is all the antique music to dispose of although I will keep a few pieces.I would love to have a piano again. We had to get rid of ours when mum became ill as we needed the space. My neighbour said I’m welcome to play hers but I’ve never felt comfortable about it.I can’t move in the downstairs bathroom for all the reclamation pieces.I’m not expecting much money but anything at all would be welcome. It’s a bad time to be selling anything now the cost of living is so high.Love Jane xx

  • Hi Jane, maybe you could get a piano when you move into your new house? I bought mine 18 years ago when I moved into this house. Devon long-houses have a middle room which you go through from kitchen to sitting room.It has 3 doors leading out from it. Originally it would have been a covered passage way for parking your cart. Slight smile Anyway it is the perfect space for my (ex-school) piano which I bought for £400 from a second hand shop. I started learning when I was 62 and 13 years later I am still a beginner but it has brought me huge pleasure. Seems to me the next part of your life should be all about fulfilling your dreams Jane. xxx

  • Hi H,Our last piano came from the local Methodist church.Mum was a much better pianist than me but I enjoy playing.I started when I was about 8.I bought a piano when I left home.I was renting a room in a large house with good acoustics.I would love to have another piano if I can get a big enough place.Love Jane xx
