I have the option of intravesical BCG or cystectomy. It's a difficult decision with pros and cons for each. I'm reasonably fit and in my early 60s. Has anyone any experience of G3 nested variant or any other advice would be much appreciated.
Hi Lauo and a warm welcome to this supportive group. I had a different treatment but we have people here with experience of both BCG and cystectomy and should be able to answer any questions for you. A difficult decision for you so gather as much information as you can to make an informed decision. Best wishes.
At age 57, I was TaG3 and offered BCG or cystectomy. It is a very difficult decision, you have to weigh up pros and cons, risks and benefits in relation to your own circumstances. I chose cystectomy for various reasons, but including wanting best chance of cure. I didn't want to risk having BCG and still needing cystectomy, possibly needing chemo too, or even getting an incurable recurrence.
Happy to answer any questions about cystectomy as a female. The impact is a bit different for males.
