Symptoms of re-occuring bladder cancer?

Hi guys,

I was last year diagnosed with a T1G3 tumour in my bladder. I had two TURBTs a chemo wash and a gruelling programme of 15 BCG treatments which worked and have remained cancer free since January.

Since all my immunotherapy I've caught every bug going and find it hard to get over anything and for the last few weeks since I had a nasty chesty infection I can't seem to feel well again. If anything over the last week I've been getting progressively worse again.

I've had cold sweats, headache, nausea after eating, slight body aches, fatigue and have a dull ache in my lower back and my right hip which is getting more painful by the day. I've also noticed some blood in my pee on and off.

Has anyone experienced these symptoms and discovered their cancer has returned??

I'm off to the doctor's tomorrow if I can get an appointment to have a check up, chat and to request a urine test etc to rule out UTIs, but I'm terrified that it's making a return.

I've been feeling generally out of sorts and unwell for almost a month now and I was interested in some feedback from anyone who has had their cancer return if they felt like this also?

  • Hi Kitty,

I'm afraid I can't help with your symptoms but given all the treatment you have had I would have thought the best way to find out if anything cancer-related is going on would be to ring your CNS and see if you can go in and chat to her or one of your team asap. That is what I should do if I were worried.

Starting with your GP might also help but I would hope the bladder people would be your quickest route to information as far as potential recurrence is concerned.

    All the best,

  • Thankyou!

I may very well give them a call straight after visiting GP and having the initial pee dip test.

Better to be safe than sorry I guess.
