My husband has been informed that the only treatment suitable for his bladder cancer is radiotherapy. Surgery and chemotherapy are not suitable as his kidney disease is now eGFR16.
Bcg has failed.
Has anyone else been in this situation? Was it successful? I'm in shock about his kidney function for the past two years there has been mention of surgery for bladder removal. All test results state ckd 3. Now he's 1% off stage 5.
Hello JAH0d732e and welcome to the group although sorry to hear your husband's BCG did not work and we know how these results also have an effect on loved ones. Radiotherapy can treat BC successfully. I went the radiotherapy route many years ago although I did not have any other issues. The treatment itself is painless and I had no real problems with it. I hope all goes well with his treatment. Best wishes.
I’m sorry to hear this about your husband and I’m also sorry I cannot give any help except that I do hope the radiotherapy is successful I have recently been diagnosed with SCC of the bladder in my diverticulum with lymph node spread I’ve been told no radiotherapy or chemotherapy will work against mine and my only option is radical surgery to remove everything my bladder all my woman organs and affected lymph nodes I’m really anxious re surgery but know this is the only option for me now and I do just wish your husband all the very best with all he’s going through
