New member/diagnosis

Hi, welcome to the group. Good that you have your results and follow up plan. Having BC means close scrutiny, sometimes life long. Be prepared that BC is highly recurrent, so you may on another occasion need another TURBT and review of results to check what treatment is appropriate.

A bladder wash is not always done - seems to be at the discretion of the surgeon. Hope all goes well for you.

Hi Jammy, welcome to the group. Ditto what Teaswill says regarding you follow up plan. I did have a bladder wash after the turbt, but I wasnt expecting it and havent been told its standard practice. Have you been allocated a cancer nurse specialist ? Wishing you all the best with your next  cystoscopy.the monitoring is a great thing for reassurance, and identifying any changes early,but a bit of rollercoaster ride depending on how often they check you . It really depends on a lot of factors whether a bladder wash is carried out with mitomycin or not. 

I never got one after several tumour removals, and because I kept having small recurrences ended up having once a week for 6 weeks mitomycin treatment, that didn't stop recurrences for me, so then it was a course over 6 weeks of Epirubicin this year and my last rigid cystoscopy showed benign biopsies and I have now been down graded to 6 monthly cystoscopies for now. 

People often have very similar journeys and sometimes not even slightly the same, your care will be taliored pretty much on what they find and grading etc and even down to doctors and hospitals. I was low grade 2 Ta myself and am in a much better place now it seems, all I had was a frank heamaturia no other symptoms at all, just came out of the blue. 

Welcome to the group but rest assured there are plenty of stories on here like mine to give you hope to get through this, it has not been a walk in park that's for sure but lots get though this.
