BCG

For the hours following my first BCG adventure the nasty side of my personality showed its ugly face. I was just horrible to my kind and caring husband. Everytime he asked how I was feeling and I answered “I’m okay”, (what else am I expected to say was my thought. I just want to be left alone) would follow “are you sure? You’re not just saying that”. Ugh! Inside I am screaming “STOP ASKING ME”. Then my son would phone. My equally caring son. Again, the monster I had become was irritated by this. LEAVE ME ALONE.

  • We've all done it Kenzie, there's all the build up to treatment, on top of diagnosis and the family is there and concerned, even though you have nothing much to say.

When I have been snappy, I later on apologise and try to explain it wasn't them, just me. If my husband does that sort of thing he usually shows he's sorry by a smile or giving me a biscuit or something else non-verbal.

I'm sure they'll understand and you will calm down as time goes on.

    All the best,
