Hi, I am waiting for my meeting with the oncologist and was wondering how long after that people had started their chemotherapy treatment. I’ve now been diagnosed with muscle invasive BC. Thanks.
I've only had 6 weeks once a week of chemo into my bladder twice in my journey but both were fairly quick to start once it was decided but mine was not muscle invasive.
It can vary a lot from hospital to hospital around timings of course.
But good luck with the chemo, do you know what you are having yet? Aka type of chemo and frequency?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Now you just have an examination stage, and there is no diagnosis yet, which means that doctors are still looking for a reason, and do not confirm one thing. Try not to be alone with it and keep in touch with doctors and loved ones ️
Hi Mrd1967,
Mine (Gem/Cis) was in 2022 so can't be accurate, but the sessions (twice a week for 2 weeks then 1 week off, for 4 cycles before bladder removal) began 2-3 weeks after the first meeting with the oncologist.
It depends on staff availability and whether you need extra tests before they start.
All the best,
