I first had bladder cancer 9years ago. Eight years later it recurred…Three months later it recurred again -all low grade and all treated by TURBT..

It then recurred nearly four months later and this time it was treated immediately by TULA.- without the need for another cystoscopy.- three new lesions..

I have my next test in May..

Has anyone else had three recurrences in around eight months?

Thanks

  • Hi  . Nice to hear from you again but sorry to hear you have had recurrences in such a short time. It does happen from time to time but unusual. Hopefully your next check will be good news and the positive is they are keeping a close eye on you. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Bladder cancer can sometimes be quite persistent but fortunately it can usually be successfully treated each time it recurs. Certainly not a welcome situation. You and your team are doing well, nevertheless.

Mine has never really gone away. Radiotherapy in 2017 then TURBT x 2 in 2018 enabled my subsequent treatment regime to palliative. It is now 2026 and nothing much has changed since. I still get occasional rosé but whatever is going on does appear to be slow moving and non-invasive. I just have a Foley urethral catheter, something I've got used to since late 2018.  Best wishes for your next cycle of treatment.  Ray

  • My brother had multiple recurrences at each 3 month visit for a few years - all G1 or G2. Eventually he was clear long enough for them to discharge him. Hope yours all stay low grade - a nuisance but not life threatening.
