I had pTa Gr 2 tumour about 3 cm in size in the bladder; removed in November 2025. I have had the inductive BCG, which ended 4 weeks ago.
Today, I had Rigid cystoscopy and biopsy. They did not find any tumour recurrence. There was a red patch over the original resection site which has been biopsied.
Now I am waiting for maintenance BCG to start. I have been told that there will be no more rigid cystoscopy under GA. All follow up will be with flexible cystoscopy only. I did not get a clear answer on if and when they are likely to do a CT urogram as part of the followup.
I am very relieved that I have no recurrence thus far. After recovery from this procedure, in a couple of days, I will start focussing on getting my health back with regular exercises, swimming and golf. Feel a lot more upbeat today.
Your support and well wishes has pulled me through this difficult journey.
Excellent news indeed Madmax . Encouraging for everyone. I've had several of the old red patches over the years which turned out to be nothing but good to know they are still checking. I hope you enjoy your new fitness regime. Best wishes going forward.
