Hi all,

I keep reading his test results over and over to find some hope.

I guess im looking for reassurance.

Unfortunately hes been a smoker all his life which I didnt realise was linked.

Im so worried it mat have spread but would that be obvious?

If uve made it this far thanks

  • All cancers if untreated have the potential to be a life threat but for most people bladder cancer is treatable. Dont panic until you know the actual results. And normally bladder cancer is slow growing so thats another reason not to panic, unecessary fear is your worst enemy good luck.

  • Thank you for this im the worst with health anxiety as it it Pensive

    Appreciate your reply though xx

  • A cancer diagnosis is always scary, but bladder cancer is very treatable. Has your dad had an op to remove the tumour yet (the op is a day procedure called TURBT)? We're not experts, but if the test results have stage (T) and grade (G), there will probably be someone here who started with the same diagnosis.

The hospital will undoubtedly do other tests (eg CT scan) as routine, to give them a full picture. Unfortunately smoking is a risk factor for many conditions, but simply getting older is a strong factor too. Of course you are concerned, but try not to get over worried about what might be. The medics will come up with a plan and then you will feel a bit more confident about the way forward.
