Hi All
I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this:
I had bladder biopsies taken 6 weeks ago under GA after some suspicious lesions were seen on flexi.
I was diagnosed with a G2pta tumour in May 2025, had TURBT and no further treatment. Three month check flexi was clear, the doctor said he didn't think I needed to be seen again for another 12 months. He was pretty dismissive and rude from the outset and, to be honest, I didn't question this at the time as I felt really embarrassed just being there. He told me he had no idea why I was there at all and intimated that I was wasting their time.
I did tell him my consultant told me I would be having 3 monthly flexi's until 12 months post TURBT, and that I wasn't there by request!
Anyway, I have had recurrent UTI's since the TURBT, the worst one lasting 3 months and taking four different antibiotic types to shift it. Because of this they wanted to do another flexi, which was when they saw the lesions.
It's now 6 weeks since the biopsies were taken, I was told on discharge that I would have the results within 4 weeks. I have been in touch with the specialist nurses, my GP, Pathology and most recently the Consultants secretary. I've left messages simply asking when they think my results might come through, but haven't had any response. I left it 5 weeks before contacting anybody.
On the positive side I am assuming that there isn't any cancer, which is why it's taking longer for them to come through. But I would really like to know for certain.
Andrea
I’m so sorry Andrea. This must be hard. I kind of think the fact that they are not chasing you may be a good thing as in my experience they are pretty quick if they find something that needs treatment. However it’s not acceptable for you to have to worry about/second guess. Do you have a PAL system at your hospital? Maybe ask them for advice. I really hope you hear soon and it’s good news. Joyce x
