Hi I’ve had 6 sessions of bcg treatment, last one in December. Now a month later I’m waking up in the night by feelings of nausea and vomiting. Is this normal?

  • Morning, sorry to hear about your problems. I didn’t get any feelings of nausea during or after my BCG treatment. I remember being given anti nausea medication during chemotherapy. Perhaps better to have a word with your CNS Nurse or GP.

  • BCG stimulates the immune system, sometimes excessively to attack organs with fast turnover of cells such as bladder, intestines, liver and rarely the hair [hair falling out is a rare side effect]. I had to suffer the side effects with my third BCG but it was fortunately less than 24 hours.

  • Hi there, sorry to hear that, just had my 2nd dose Thursday, not been the best, severe pain when peeing for 2 days 2 with upset stomach, been feeling sick now since yesterday,  it must be a side effect.
