Hi all, I just wondered if any one had an opinion or knowledge about swimming following BCG. I really need to find an exercise to keep me fit and my local leisure centre has a warm pool, for people in ‘ recovery or with long term conditions ‘ ( who knew they would be so thoughtful) . Having had number 18 , which is testing my mettle a bit, I was hoping to do gentle swimming on monday . I cant see a reason why not and dont really want to bother my CNS with what seems a trivial question. I suppose I am concerned that I could start bleeding ?? any opinion gratefully received
much love Angela x
Hi Angela. Not had BCG so no help but great to hear you aim to get fitter. Never heard of a recovery pool but it sounds like a good idea. I hope you go for it and enjoy it. Best wishes.
I can't really see it would be an issue even of you just take it easy to be sure. But then again what I know could be written on a stamp and still have room for my full address and name and a short story
Don't worry about calling your CNS team for advice that is what they are there for. No question is a stupid question, the only stupid questions are the ones we don't ask.
Hope you get a clear answer.

Thanks Riy, I have been pondering today and I suppose my fear would be introducing infection. However it is likely I am a bit OTT . The exercise would be no worse than a normal walk i think. Well i have booked it now , so we will see on monday haha
Much love Angela x
Hi Angela,
Can't really offer any advice regarding going swimming after your BCG, but hopefully you can go for a dip.
Although saying that, there would have been no way for me to go swimming so soon after number 18... I would literally be leaving the pool for a wee after each length... Lol
