So as many household do we have products hung on our toilet bowls or in cistern obviously being a bladder cancer patient we probably avoid them the cistern ones tend to make the toilet water blue which doesn’t help us out we avoided them for a while in my house as I always like to see the what’s in the bowl after as in the early days the urine would look normal on the flow out but once it hit the water line would see a pink tinge I have just got used to looking at every urine visit now but even the hang on the bowl ones cause bubbles so the question is does anyone feel this way and what do you use to a keep the toilet smelling fresh but also ensures you can see clearly what you have deposited

  • Evening Ste,  we use the ones that hang on the side of the bowl, I’ve got use to the colour that they make the water so if I think it looks different, the next pee I’ll go into a sample pot…

  • Only just started using them again us in over a year and sending my anxiety through the roof If I can’t see properly but yes your right the sample pot is always on the the bathroom window sill and do use it a couple of times a week anyway so yea there is always that

  • We've never used any of the cistern or bowl hook-overs. Just squirt an eco cleaner round frequently and brush the bowl. With eucalyptus and mint it's quite fresh enough for us. But the water is clear between goes so easy to monitor pee colour.

  • yes we do the same as. it was quite a mental upheaval for me to use bleach on bcg days, I hate the stuff !

    Much love Angela x

  • We've not used bleach since I read that even once a week raises your chance of developing COPD.

  • I think a coloured bowl can make it difficult to see pee colour too eg our peach one!

In our old house we had sorrento blue - showed up every mark. Wasn't bothered about pee colour in those days...
