I had a scan yesterday and they found a mass on my right pelvis so I'm worried again now , thought today might get some answers but no ....they have reassured me what evers there and shouldn't be there they will remove it on sat , said I will have a cafiter fitted and they will flush my bladder after with a solution to get rid of anything left ? Has any of you had that please

  • Hi Christine

I have not personally , someone iam sure will be along soon to offer help but I wish you all the best for Saturday.

  •  . Hi again Christine. They don't tell you much because they don't really know yet. They should take some biopsies on Saturday for analysis. A few weeks waiting for results but when all results and scans are done, they will know what they are dealing with and come up with a suitable plan going forward. The bladder wash after the op is standard. A chemo drug is administered via a catheter to help mop up any rogue cells floating around. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • I would imagine they will Instill Mitomycin after the OP, the aim of that is to kill off any remaining cancer cells. Hold it for 2 hours post surgery then release it. It's aim is to try to stop recurring tumours.

I never had the Mitomycin each time for some reason and now have to do 6 weeks of 1 day a week instillation shortly.

I'd rather have had it put in once during an op that's for sure.

But good luck and hope you get some answers and some good results.
