Hello All
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience of TULA? My husband has been offered this for recurrence of a small non invasive tumour previously treated twelve months ago by TURP.
Thank you and wishing you all well.
Hello Wispmydog . Not had this procedure myself, but we come across it often on here. Much easier than a TURBT and no general anaesthetic. Usually done in day surgery. I am sure someone with experience will be along to help. Best wishes.
Hi I had this procedure last year and it was quite simple, bit like a cystoscopy but they zapped the little patch and it was like a little nip but all over quite quickly. You did have to have dye put into bladder an hour before, then pee this out and any cancer cells would show up pink I think so they can see them.
Next cystoscopy was all clear few months later.
Not a bad procedure at all. Good luck to your husband.
I had a TULA 2 weeks ago, they took four biopsies. It’s like a normal cystoscopy but they give you special glasses because of the laser. As well as camera is what looks like a pair of grabbers/clippers used to take the biopsy it stings like someone has really pinched you. The laser is used to stop the bleeding. Didn’t have any dye added prior, did have antibiotics given on the day. Over and done within 20 mins and went straight home
