Hello all, I have had 6x BCG treatments the last one being 2 weeks ago.
I didn’t have many side effects from BCG, I could hold it in ok, no burning or urgency. I felt abit tired after the last one, and had a bit of pink tinged urine but that was just the one episode. I’ve been fine ever since and that was 3 weeks ago.
I have been well and feeling healthy and getting on with life, then at the weekend I coughed and some phlegm came up and there was bit of blood in it, it was just the one occasion of it. Should I be worried? Is it to do with the BCG? I’m thinking maybe some of the TB has done something to my chest, I’ve not had a cough/cold till that one cough that brought up abit of bloody phlegm. Please help I’m worried and so is my family, none of my urology nurses have got back to me I think she is off sick & none of the other people got back to me either yet I know that are so busy though but I am panicking.
Hi Margarita85x and welcome to the group although sorry to hear your concerns. It can be worrying when you don't know what is going on. BCG can cause many different side effects but coughing up blood in phlegm is not usually something we come across. Keep trying your urology nurse and if no joy, try your GP. It may be nothing, but if it continues it should be checked for peace of mind. I hope all goes well with your treatment. Best wishes.
