So sick of post-TURBT bleeding

Just venting for a bit ... no emergency that I'm aware of. Slight smile

I'm 3 weeks post TURBT No. 3. (Still  high grade non-invasive)

The blood in the urine has been weird this time. First week, very, very little. Then a week or 10 days goes by and I passed a decent amount of blood over the  course of  few days. Some of the clots were hitting the marginally large measure, but they were passing. Stopped my blood thinners for a few more days. And this abated and back to yellow I went. Also resumed my thinners ... 'cause my heart doc doesn't like 'em held too long.

But, here were are on day 21 or so, and I'm passing some blood and clots again. Last wee had a couple "clunkers" in it ... clots big enough I can feel 'em leave and hear 'em hit the water.

With any luck and a lot of hydration -- this, too, shall pass.

I just sometimes get so tired of it all.

I see my general practitioner Apr 3 and my urologist Apr 8. If nothing gets worse, I'll simply inform then and see what they have to say. Naturally, if I get blocked, I'll get more immediate help.

Thanks for letting blow off steam.  I appreciate you all!

  • sending you a post vent hug , hope things start to ease for you x

  • Hi Mark. Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down. It is understandable. Not just the physical side of things but also the psychological side that can get on top of you. I hope you get some positive news when you have your upcoming meeting. Best wishes.

  • Hi totally get you . As I speak I’m going through the same. Been bleeding in urine since. Thursday evening. It’s concerning an worrying. I explain when at hospital. But I never get answers when I see my doctor at hospital. Hi have kidney a bladder cancer. Two weeks ago told gone to my lymph nodes an now I’m stage 4. In January I was stage 1. I just want answers why this happening with bleeding.

  • I feel for you. Sometimes it feels like the questions and the uncertainty just build up, and the answers get more elusive. For me, the mental aspect of having cancer has been at least as difficult as the physical aspect.

  • I agree .had chemotherapy yesterday. An ask nurse about bleeding said from my bladder. Thank you for your reply.

  • You might want to check with the medical team that your bladder has not in fact been perforated. An MRI should provide the answer. It’s quite common. Not trying to cause you further anxiety, but you might want to check, for reassurance.

  • Thanks for the advice.
At this point, I'm thinking it was normal post-TURBT bleeding, although a tad more than last time,  as it subsided after a few days.
But I do meet with an oncologist/urologist this week, and I'll ask.
    Thanks again.

  • Hello MarkinUS, sorry to read that bleeding is still a problem. I hope that your meeting with the specialist gives you some reassurance and a greater understanding of the possible cause plus further treatment options to ease or eliminate the problem. If you are anything like me, I know that maintaining morale in these circumstances can be every bit as demanding as the cancer itself. Best wishes, Ray.
