Hello  ive had a Cystoscopy with biopsies  under general aesthetic today and I just wondered how recovery was ?

The reason for the referral in the first place - blood in urine - sometimes seen by me but always seen on a dipstick , lower back pain and sometimes bladder pain but not always. Two lots of antibiotics didn't work, urine sent to lab and no bacteria growth.

The area of concern was at the neck of my bladder. Wondered if any had similar?

Worrying wait now for the results.

Thankyou so much Heartbeat

  • Hi  and welcome to the group. Firstly be aware that if it does turn out to be bladder cancer then bladder cancer can be treated successfully. We know how worrying the early days of uncertainty and not knowing can be. Many of have been there. A couple of weeks waiting for results and your results determine the next step. Lots of experience here so always someone to answer any questions. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Megamax,Welcome to our friendly group. After a TURBT procedure

Drink plenty of fluids to keep the bladder flushed out.Lemon barley water is useful to prevent urine infections.

Take painkillers if you need them.A hot water bottle or wheat bag can be a comfort over the bladder.

Try to avoid heavy lifting for a few weeks while your bladder is healing.

I used to have 2 or 3 easy days after biopsies but was able to return to caring for my late disabled mother after them. Some people take a while to recover from the anaesthetic so take it easy for the next few days.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.I hope you find the group helpful and supportive.Jane
