Hi friends hope everyone is well.
I had my operation on Wednesday 5 hours. The surgeon said everything went well. Spent Wednesday night in recovery and back to the ward yesterday morning.
I've been up on my feet walking about for a bit. Pain is not too bad at the moment being managed with painkillers.
I passed a bowel movement this morning which is a good sign.
Stoma nurses are showing me all about changing the bags.
Please forgive me if I can't reply to messages right away as iam quite exhausted but over the next few days I will.
Best wishes everyone
Mark
Hi Mark, so glad to hear it all went well. Take things easy and look after yourself.
Love Ade xx
Hi Mark,
That all sounds very positive, bowels can be tricky at first but will settle into their new position over the next few weeks. You”re a few days ahead of where I was in that respect.
Tiredness is normal after such major surgery, it will improve. Some good tips on here about applying the bags if you search around. Most useful one I found was warming in the armpit for a few minutes before applying.
