Hiya,
I'm Al.
My first time around the block was 2022. Thought I had a UTi with burning sensation when I peed. Then my pee turned pinkish. Went to GP as soon as that happened. Luckily GP was on the ball and within two weeks I had FC which spotted little white tumor, and then TURBT soon after. 3 months later in early 2023, follow up FC found another little white tumor, so back in for another little white tumor. Again, TURBT and follow up FCs.
Since then I've gone for quite a while with clear FCs and no symptoms.
Until June this year. Burning Sensation when I pee again. So no messing about, GP put me on anti biotics and local General Hospital had me in for a FC. The FC didn't find any little white tumors. I went into Urology where they did a culture on my pee, presuming that it was a UTI that the GPs antibiotics hadn't caught. Also completely clear.
So I'm now in this weird limbo where I know something's wrong, but I don't quite know what to do next. Frankly, I've read that an enlarged Prostate can cause this kind of sypmtom, and that possibility scares the living daylights out of me. I'd kind of got my head around Bladder Cancer, just keep going in for FCs and TURBTs and everything will be dandy. But this new thing has got me rattled.
I have to say that the level of service and help I've had from Macmillan and Weston-Super-Mare General has been beyond superb. I've had councelling, and consuted the Phone advice line and Advisor on site at Weston General a bunch of times, and every time my questions have been answered honestly, respectfully, seriously and in detail. Without that, I think I would have gone loopy a long time ago!
Love to all
Al
Hello, good morning Al. Sorry to hear about your experiences. The tests appear to be good news but you are obviously in some discomfort. I hope you get the response and treatment you require soon. I had my prostate shaved as part of my treatment to maintain better flow when urinating. Garviv
