Hi everyone,

I have recently been diagnosed with BC (about a month ago). Thankfully appointments with the NHS have come through thick & fast.
Almost 2wks post surgery to remove the tumour.
I had a CT scan 3 wks ago & waiting on results & Histology.
Up until now everything has happened relatively quickly but finding it more difficult this week waiting to hear exactly where I’m at & the treatment plan.
Hopefully I will have some new’s next week.
Just to say I have gleaned so much information from your post’s & the kindness & positivity shines through.
Thank you all, Nicola

  • Hi  and welcome to the group. Waiting for results is always an anxious time and many here will be familiar with the feelings. Once you have your results and a treatment plan, you then have a clearer idea of the way forward and something positive to focus on. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Nicola

I'm so glad that you found this forum. I have found it to be a God send. The lovely folk on here are supportive and full of good advice. I'm quite a newbie here too. I was diagnosed in February 2024, I've had 2 TURBTs and just started on BCG therapy for high grade bladder cancer.

Don't be surprised if you have to have a second TURBT to confirm the Histology results before you get started on a treatment plan(if required). I have found that someone on the forum will have the answer to any questions you may have or just to be there for you if you're having a bad day.

Keep posting and im sending you a virtual hug .

    Love Ade

    • Thank’s so much for responding.
I’m really grateful for how quickly appointments have come through.
However apart from in recovery when the surgeon came round & I obviously was still very groggy, I haven’t spoken to a medic so feeling a bit lost at sea at the moment.
Good to know I may need a second TURBT & yes I’m sure once I know exactly where I’m at & the way forward I will feel more settled.
Hope your BCG therapy goes to plan.

    • Best wishes to all.

  • Hi Nicola,

Welcome to the group and sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Glad to hear you've been looked after well and have been treated quickly.

  • Hi

Welcome to this very supportive group, which I hope will make your journey easier. CT scans usually take about 10 days to come through and post TURBT histology about 3 weeks, but there is not fixed rule. You seem to have been dealt with quite quickly, which is good. I think it was about the same time span for me.

Once your results are through your team will decide on a course of treatment and there are many. Fortunately, BC has a high  successful treatment rate and if you have any questions please ask on this site. If you have a CSN you could always ask for an update, mine have been absolutely brilliant. Try to stay away from Dr Google.

It doesn't matter where you go, there you are
