Hi all
After my initial Turbt I was told I would have 6 weeks of chemo with Mitomycin-c ( finished about 6 weeks ago) and a cystoscopy under General anaesthetic about 3 months after the course. I have been informed the date for my cystoscopy which is very helpful but it will be just under local aka flexible (?). I was a bit surprised at this ? I'm a bit concerned that if (as is likely) they see some reoccurrence that biopsies may not be as comprehensive as those done via rigid cytoscopy. Any experience out there please.
Hi Bicyclegirl . It is fairly standard to have a flexible cystoscopy rather than a rigid following treatment. Usually a visible inspection. If anything untoward is seen, then a TURBT would be arranged. I hope it goes well. Best wishes.
Thanks Rily, it is of course less stress on the body and more cost effective. I guess it just wasn't what my original post TURBT letter said but I'm sure if anything untoward is seen then as you say it will be followed up on.
Hi,I hope all goes well.As rily has said they will arrange a TURBT if they see anything that needs further investigation.Love Jane
It's not for another 7 weeks but thank you both for the reassurance x
After the first 6 week induction of bcg, I had a break and then was put out for them to check bladder and do a biopsy, thankfully couple of weeks after got the all clear and continued with bcg and normal cystoscopy without anaesthetic. Still going on and another cystoscopy this week.
