Hello Rily,  Thanks so much for your reply,  I hope to use the voluntary driver group.here, not free but more comfortable than the hospital transport I have used in the past which goes all round the houses.  I think it will be worth the expense ....I don't think I shall be spending much elsewhere!

No dates yet.  I think there might be nights when I sleep downstairs to save the stair climbing.  I plan to avoid all the side effects the consultant listed!!!  i shall try to look on it as a series of road trips
