BCG blood in pee

Hi fellow travellers. I had BCG number 6 mid last week of my induction course. I now have a UTI, for which I have Fosfomycin as a treatment. Tonight I saw bits in my pee and on one occasion some rose blood in my urine. Is this normal at this stage in the BCG cycle? I did find the side effects building up week on week, the last week being the worst. As usual mind racing to panic stations so any advice gratefully received. Cheers Leo

Blood and scabs happened to me following BCG, but not after every instillation. Was told tis was normal.

I have found each instillation to be different in respect to the side effects. In brief

1-4 no issues except slight fever for a ~6 hours afterwards

5 knocked me out for 3-4 days with sweats and chills

6 no side effects

7 heavy clear fraction in urine .. told this was epithelium sloughing off

8 blood and scabs in urine

9 no issues at all

Hi Leo, sending you a virtual hug, you have had a rough time with it. Good info from tortoise, to me highlighting that week by week it can be different, all useful for us BCGers . Hope the infection clears up quickly and you can carry on enjoying free time from treatment.
