Hi

I am a type 1 Diabetic with Psoriatic Arthritis who
10 wks ago was diagnosed with non evasive Bladder Cancer
with Grade  3 Tumours that have removed. For 19 yrs i have
taken a biological drug for arthritis which has been life changing
. I have been of the Biological for 54 days now waiting to start chemo.
My Rheumatologist is very concerned about a potential problem with chemo
drugs. Has anyone had a similar issue and what are the possible
outcomes other than bladder removal or regular 13 wk camera/
TURBT. I am now on steroids for my arthritis that my Urologist is
happy with.

best regards

  • Hi  . Not come across anyone in a similar situation to you on here regarding biological drugs. Your urology team will take everything in to consideration when deciding on treatment. Best wishes.

  • Thanks Rily, my urology team have beenvgreat and suggested chemo solutions but my Rheumatologist has serious medical concerns as neither have dealt with this situation before. Its now 6,wks since the recommend chemo should have started. Any suggestions would help me as i am just in limbo and the tumour could be growing back.

  • hi  . We know there are delays with waiting lists but it would never do any harm to give them a ring and ask if you are on the list. have you been allocated a CNS who would always be the first go to? Do you know what type of chemo you will be having. Intravenous (in to the veins) or directly in to the bladder? Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • yes i know they want mitomycin into my bladder. They urology and my mcmillan nurse have been briliant but they never dealt with a biological. They have gone to three major hospitals for advise and none have been any to help my Rheumatologist to make a decision.  i cant believe i am the only person in my situation.
