Hospital Appointment following TURB

Hello, I had my TURB first week of January and was in hospital overnight. I was told my tumours were larger than anticipated from the CT scan but under 3cm and surgeon said he didn't think they were muscle invasive but need to wait for results from biopsy. I now have an appointment next week to discuss results. I am slightly anxious  because my initial appointment was first week in February and the invite on the MFT portal was brief, however that one was cancelled and  I was given a new appointment for next week only this time the invite said I was free to bring a relative of friend with me. Am I reading too much into this change of wording of is this a standard template  for an appointment at this stage in the process?

  • Hi Frank I don’t know if it’s standard procedure to bring a relative or friend, perhaps others can answer that one, but it’s good you are being seen soon to establish where you are now, and what the forward plan is. I always have my wife with me for in person meetings or calls from nurses and consultants to include her, and to prompt me with any questions. Good luck. Leo

  •  . Hi Frank. It's always easy to overthink the timing and wording of these appointments so go in with an open mind. Always good to have someone with you. They can sometimes overload you with information which you forget as soon as you walk out of the door. Also, ask to be copied in to the meeting notes. It makes things a lot easier to understand when it is written down. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.
