Hi, I was diagnosed 21st November, had TURBT and given mytomycin 29th November. Been told it will be 5 weeks before they can give me results of biopsy and will have another cystoscooy in February.  I've been made to feel that this isn't any more serious than having a tooth removed and all will be ok and i shouldn't worry because "hopefully" it is a low risk cancer. I just feel lost and am worried. I've found myself constantly reassuring loved ones that it's all good and it's now been sorted. Just wish I could convince myself.

  • It is hard when first diagnosed as everything is new and scary and you don’t know what to expect.Hopefully you can find some comfort from talking to others on here.

  • Hi  and a welcome from me. The early days of not knowing and uncertainty can be the worst. It does somewhat make things slightly easier when you know what you are dealing with and have something to focus on. 5  weeks is a long time to wait or results, but we are seeing longer waiting times these days. A follow up cystoscopy, usually under GA, is standard and gives them a more accurate diagnosis. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Cathy,I joined this group 4 and a half years ago and have found it very helpful.Do you have much support at home ? People do tend to feel less anxious once all the results are back and treatment starts.Jane x
