Six weeks after my last BCG induction course (6 instillations) urine Dipstix still shows high blood (+++200) and leucocytes.(++125) Is this to be expected?
Hi Tortoise . A touch of blood after BCG is not unusual, but leucocytes can be a sign of infection. Not uncommon after catheters. Always wise to hand in a sample at GPs to check. I use dip sticks now and again. Not failsafe but give give you a god indication. Best wishes.
Microbiological screen negative, but still have blood (unhaemolysed) and leukocytes on dipstx with blood screen showing with elevated c-reactive protein. Hoping this is all due to the immunological recation from the BCG, the last of which I had 7 weeks ago.
Hi Tortoise . I would have thought the BCG effects would have dispersed by now. I still think it may be a good idea to drop a sample with your GP for a detailed analysis. With my surgery, if I hand a sample in to reception before 3 pm, the results are back next day. Best wishes.
