I have just been told that I am to get 6 doses of mitomycin after a new tumour has been found 3 months after first one was removed.
can anyone tell me of their experiences with this regarding side effects either good or bad.
I have recently finished my six doses, and experienced no ill effects whatsoever. It is a very small catheter and the procedure takes only five minutes, you will hardly know it has been done. You will have to stay in the hospital for about an hour and a half on the first appointment as the mitomycin has to stay in the bladder for this length of time. The other appointments, you can go straight home. But make sure it stays in your bladder for the requisite time. After you have had the treatment make sure that you keep the area clean as it can make you very sore if you get it on your skin. Other than that, it's a doddle. A lot better than that camera!! I have got that to look forward to next week......
