Blood in urine, Cystoscopy still clear

Hi all. Had that heavy feeling in my bladder for 6 weeks (UTI), urine tested weekly and blood present. Because of the BC history I had a Cystoscopy and it was clear. But the blood is increasing and there is no infection.

Contacted GP after latest test results to be told by a nurse that blood in the urine is perfectly normal after chemo.

My problem with that is, my TURBT and mitomycin was 2 years ago now! And this blood has only recently been present and why is it increasing?

Any ideas anyone...... I've already convinced myself the cancer has returned in my kidneys.....Sob health anxiety is no joke.

Thanks for listening...

  • Hi  . Good to know your cystoscopy was clear. We know bladder treatment can have adverse effects on the bladder and occasional bleeding is not uncommon. Important to drink lots of water regularly to clear it out. Obviously if it continues, then contact the medics again. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Mr D has had quite a bit of blood in urine ever since being put on 'thinners', first edoxuban, then GP switched to apixaban, following a TIA 3 weeks ago. He's recovered pretty well from the TIA but I'm cross because the GP's here haven't called him in for a triglyceride check since before covid. So it may well have been avoidable. But they discovered a slight atrial fibrillation so we understand the need for the thinners to prevent recurrence.  Just thought I'd mention it in case same happens to other people but don't make the connection. Also I think current 10 days of diclofenac for back/neck whiplash after we were rear-ended Friday may have something to do with it.
