CONSULTANT DISCUSSION REGARDING RESULTS

Hi Everyone

My partner and  myself, spoke to the consultant yesterday, with regards to his 2nd TURBT Op Results.

During the 1st Op, the surgeon had to go deeper into tissue, to obtain biopsy. He said, It wasn't Superficial as first thought.

Having done this, they had Perforated the Bladder, leaving  a hole.

Mitomycin was given  at this stage, due to the Perforation.

Yesterday, giving Results of 2nd Op, he suggested that he was fairly confident. That there were no cancerous cells, visible, after 2nd careful resection. He said no need for Cystoscopy, to double check.Start treatment ASAP.

He also suggested, that the Perforation had healed, but on the surgeons record. It states, visible Perforation. Careful re resection done.

My partner asked about the possibility, of cells, being seeded, in other areas, due to the Perforation.

Ge suggested that It Is possible, but fairly confident that its not the case.

He has Grade 3 High  Risk Bladder cancer, no treatment, since first op, on 7th October 2021

Would this be something to be concerned about  ?

We honestly felt like he was BS us, and  he was fairly confident, without needing to check first. Before treatment  ??

Thanks In  advance  for any help or Advice

  • Hi  . It can be confusing and hard to understand things when being told. Does your partner get  copies of the meeting notes and procedures. If not you should ask to be copied in to all notes. It makes things a lot easier to understand when in black and white. There should be a flexi check further down the line to see how things are going. Has your partner been allocated a CNS who is always the best person to get more accurate information? Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.
