In February I was diagnosed with bladder cancer and had a TURBT to remove it. At the 3 months check I was clear. At my recent 6 month check 2 hypermic patches were found and have been biopsies. I’ve been advised to expect results in 2 to 3 weeks, last time it was 2 months.
I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this or similar and if it is likely to be a recurrence.
Thank you
Hi Wilf and welcome. If your patches are hyperaemic ie red [extra blood vessels], this is really very common. Sometimes they are cancerous and sometimes just a reaction to treatments or just 'one of those things'. My husband has had them a couple of times and just been put on 3 monthly re-checking instead of 6 monthly. He's got a single recurrence now but this is after about 5 years clear, he's booked for a TURBT Monday morning but not bothered about it.
So basically your best bet is to keep busy and try not to dwell on it till the lab results come back.
