Well today we had our consultation and found out following the TURBT that the cancer is muscle invasive. G3 pt2!
so 6 mths chemotherapy planned and then cystectomy.
We are devastated.
My husband has another scan next week to check for spread but for now we know it’s contained.
We are in such shock with it all :(
Hi pixie27. Not what you hoped for but still not the end of the world. Muscle invasive can be treated. Are you sure it is not six weeks chemo rather than months? I was T3 and still have my bladder several years later. I had radiotherapy, but many here live without their bladders. When chemo is finished, they will check with more scans to see what has changed and take it from there. Best wishes.
Hi again pixie. I had 6 weeks of chemo. Long day one week and half day the following. Didn't have any problems with it and never sick, although we know some people have some side effects. You cannot predict how people will manage it. Best wishes.
I had 4 chemos every month for three months. Honestly please don’t worry too much. Everyone has their own side effects but for me it was not as bad as I thought it would be, positive thoughts (although hard at times, I know). I wasn’t sick once just tired and a bit lethargic. It’s doing the job it’s meant to do. I wish you well.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
