I am about to start BCG but after reading about the side effects of this treatment I am very worried about it. Please be honest is this a choice I should think about before starting
Hi Dav,
Can't help you with the BCG but only yesterday i started my adjuvement therapy which involves being administered Pembromizulab via intravenous drip. I read all the info they sent me regarding Pembro and i have to say i was very worried. The list of side effects was very long so I can relate to your worrying.
I'm sure a few on this forum have had BCG and will be of better help than I. In the meantime i would call a oncology specialist nurse, and talk about you worries of side effects. The nurse will have some advice, i'm sure, that may calm your fears.
Good luck ...Del.
Hi Dav. I went a different route so no experience of BCG. Having read many posts on the subject here, it is pot luck. Some people sail through the treatment with no problems. Others have a hard time with it, but most are in the middle with manageable effects. Everyone is different and you cannot predict which way it will go. I hope it goes well for you. Best wishes.
As far as I know it has done its job but at a cost of feeling discomfort and some frequency. But just remember I'm one person and quite possibly not the norm. Please feel free to ask any more questions.
