  • Hi, yes I am currently receiving treatment on the NHS but as I’ve progressed from stage 3 to 4 the doors on surgery seem to be closing

despite stage 4 I am very minimally diseased and my latest scan in Jan showed a reduction so i feel I don’t have a choice but to try and find someone myself to operate

I am 41 years old and apart from 2 cms of cancer i am very fit and well

  • Thank you for your reply - I am compiling a list

  • Whereabouts in the country are you? No point in suggesting someone miles away. Also worth looking up BAUS female bladder cancer specialist.

  • Thank you

I’m near Manchester but would be willing to travel anywhere

  • You would be best to choose someone near to home - you don't want to be making long journeys after RC. Probably can't go far wrong with Manchester Uni teaching hosp or the Christie.

  • Mr W was diagnosed 5and a half years ago and treated  successfully with bcg However he has had recurrent utis since September which our Gp has treated unsuccessfully with antibiotics Unable to get anything other than telephone appointments we decided a couple if weeks ago enough was enough and made an appt with Mr Mohee at the Alexandra hospital in Cheadle After an excellent 35 minute face to face appointment Mr W had full blood and urine tests is having a full ct scan tomorrow and then a flexiscope If it comes to Mr W needing RC Mr Mohee will be able to do robotic surgery At the moment we dont know Mr W passed a kidney stone a few weeks ago and blood tests show his kidney filtration is impaired which needs investigation His losartan for high blood pressure has been stopped as it can affect the kidneys We were very impressed with Mr Mohee You can see his profile on the Alex and the Highfield pages along with several other urologists

    Best wishes

    Wilbert
