Hi Coojee,Good to hear you are through the op.Sugar free chewing gum is supposed to stimulate the bowel to start working.Getting up and walking should help but don’t overdo it.Take care,love & best wishes Jane x

I really hope the gum and laxido start working and you don’t get Paralytic Ileus.How are you feeling pain wise ?

I hope so too! Pain about a 4 at the moment. Its in my abdomen & also my right shoulder.

I had a sharp pain in my shoulder.I was told it would wear off.It was due to irritation of the diaphragm caused by the gas used to inflate the abdomen.It aggravates the nerve endings in the shoulder.My pain went quickly.

Wow, did I miss something - last I heard I thought you were having a big discussion about options. Great to hear that you are through the op & sounds like recovering well. Don't push yourself too hard or you will pay for it the next day. Hope your wife is coping OK.

Thanks, I am at home now after spending extra time in hospital due to an infection. I need to get some sample packs today, any suggestions please? I an single skin, convex. The Salts ones look nice but dont seem to have taps or night bags.

My wife handling things extremely badly, I think she has a lot of mental issues which have got 100% worse since I was away.

Pain is lessening & trying to figure out a routine. I'm thinking of perhaps a stoma change every other day after a shower. Now suer yet. I can't dicuss this with my wife at all.
