Had turbt almost 3 was ago had constant sickness, back pain-didn’t eat for 6 days then readmitted to hospital for further 2 days. No infection found and scans ok. Sickness stopped but still pain in bladder area but back pain has been bad. Bladder not emptying fully. Have been treating myself for constipation for past week and only after 5 days my bowels have moved but to my utter dismay my back pain continues along. I am gutted as I was so sure back pain was constipation. GP suggested it may have been the way I was lying during my operation as I had the back pain as soon as I came round. Has anyone had the same?
Hi Sandra glasgow and welcome to the group, although sorry to hear you are still in some discomfort following your op. Back pain is fairly common following a TURBT and the subject comes up here often. Some people recover better than others and it can take up to 6 weeks for the wound to fully heal. Various things can affect recovery, such as how severe they had to cut or the location. The main thing we are always advised to do is drink lots of water to keep things flushed out.
