Hi
Im having a BCG bladder wash tomorrow and I am wondering about ide effects if anyone has had any…I’m so worried
Thank you
Hello Christmas holly, (very seasonal), and welcome to the group. I’ve not heard the BCG called a bladder wash before. There’s nothing to worry about , most on here have had lots of these procedures. They can be uncomfortable but not painful. The BCG is inserted via a catheter, this takes about 5 minutes. After a couple of hours you can pee it out. There are usually 6 weekly procedures , best wishes, J
Hiya
WallyB thank you for your speedy answer…them side effects I can handle, just wondering about any nasty ones…hopefully not…and the cleaning up after you have been to the loo…( strange thing to talk about to someone you don’t know lol) thank you any way.
Hello again Christmasholly. I have to say I’ve not experienced any of the nasty ones you anticipate and the clearing up is no more than disinfecting with bleach in the loo. It does seem strange to discuss these subjects with complete strangers but you’ll also now know that modesty and urology are not compatible, regards, J
Cheers….yeah I’m realising this now…but it starts tomorrow so…
Regards C.
Christmasholly,
I have my 2nd one today. First one passed without any side effects. So hopefully you will experience the same.
My consultant advised to put 2 cups of bleach down the pan after going and leave for 30 mins before flushing. I also bought a spray and use this on seat each time.
Good luck tomorrow, but I asked the same questions last week and in most cases it's not too bad.
Regards
Colin
Hi Christmasholly,Welcome to the group.I hope your treatment goes well.Best wishes Jane
Awww thank you Colin I’ve been chewing myself to death not sleeping because it’s on my mind all the time…it’s the not knowing that gets you and if there is going to be extra problems…so thank you for that bit of reassurance.

Hi Colin hope your 2nd BCG went OK.

All good thanks. If anything the procedure was a little easier. Probably as I knew what to expect. All finished in 10 minutes.
Thanks for asking.
Regards
Colin
