Hi all
Hope everyone is doing ok.
I am due my first 3 mth cystoscopy on Wed (well actually 3 mths and three weeks as they cancelled the first date I had) and I have suddenly started to get all those negative feelings again.
I was initially diagnosed with TCC pTa grade 1/low risk but also told that stats locally for reoccurrence at 3mth are a whopping 46% (altho’ the EORTC calculator gave me 15% chance of reoccurrence at 1 year so go figure).
In short, I am preparing for the worst but wondered has anyone here had a reoccurrence at their first 3 mth check but then gone on to be clear at one or more subsequent checks?
Best wishes to all

Hi Bluebear21. It is normal to be anxious going in for a check. I have had over 20 cystoscopies over the years and still get the jitters beforehand. These stats are very vague. Some people have multiple recurrences while others have none. Hope it goes well with your flexi. Best wishes.
My husband had a recurrence after first TURBT and 6 BCG. But it was sorted at the time as he was under GA anyway because of his strictures. He's had a couple of goes of "the dreaded red patches" but nothing since and that was a good couple of years ago. I had no idea it might be so common.
Best,
Denby
Thanks Demby. i hope your husband continues to do well.

Just to close the loop on this post, I can report I had my flexi first thing this morning and no signs of reoccurrence. I know this doesnt mean it wont come back at some point but I will take what I can get in the way of good news. Feel very fortunate and posting just to encourage others in similar position. Blue.
Really good news Blue. Gives encouragement to others going through this. Best wishes going forward.
That’s great to hear.Best wishes going forward.Love Jane xx
That's fab news.....
I was clear at my first since the TURBT last month. My next one is February. Not thinking about that yet.

Thanks Clare. That is certainly my approach too - you have to put it out of your mind until the time is near. Fingers crossed for all of us.
