Hi everyone. I am a carer for my wife and she has started Folfox treatment for her Stage 4 diagnosis. She has had cholangiocarcinoma for 5 years so we have gone through numerous treatments. Has anyone else been through this treatment and had a symptom of severe pain? This I think at the moment is the worse symptom and we are trying to navigate our way through it and how best to calm her down. It's stressful for her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi SKS78dc0ccf and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your wife's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If your wife is still in severe pain, please do get her to call the emergency number she would have been given at the start of her treatment so she can be assessed.
I posted earlier but for some reason it doesn't seem to have worked. Maybe two will appear, I'll try to remember what I said!
I noticed no-one had replied who had experience of the same treatment. My husband was diagnosed last year, it was operable, so his treatment plan at the moment is quite different. I'm guessing over the years you will have done lots of research and looked at the AMMF website which offers lots of advice? Their FaceBook page is very active and I am sure you would have a good response to your question if you haven't already posted on there?
I hope your wife's symptoms have improved or soon will, and wish her well.
