Hi. My doctor has recommended complete fulguration of my anal canal for an 3. I'm concerned about long-term complications, stenosis how bad it hurt and just finding other people who've been through this because my doctor doesn't want to answer my questions
Hi Cinny ,
Firstly welcome to our little corner of the MacMillan Online Community although I’m sorry that you’ve had the need to find us.
I have no personal experience & I have to admit I’d never heard of this treatment before & had to google it to see what it entails. We’ve had a couple of members here that have been diagnosed with AIN in the past but I'm not sure if they’re still members of the forum.
It’s disgraceful that your Dr won’t answer any of your questions, regarding our health our Dr’s have an obligation to be open & honest with us! I would probably have a look at going through PALS at the surgery or hospital concerned as you have a right to have any questions you have answered.
I'm sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
Nicola
HelloCinny
I have just answered you on another post but just wanted to say I am so sorry you have a non-communicative doctor. The days when doctors kept patients in the dark should definitely be in the long distant past and you must be anxious enough already without this outdated nonsense. Nicola has given good advice, but in the meantime search the forum. I hope you get some results.
Irene xx
