Hi all,
just wondered is it standard for you receive a cervical smear invite?
Many thanks
Becky xx
Hi Becky,
Yes, I think if you fall into the age range they still send you the reminder. Don't worry!
xx
Thank Mrs Vanilla .. I was enough already lol!
I received invites until after I retired. I thought I didn't need them as I had had a hysterectomy but another kind lady on here pointed out that they still take a smear from the vaginal 'vault'. So I learned something!
Irene xx
The NHS website says that you don't normally need a smear test if you've had a total hysterectomy - it's a cervical smear test and you don't have a cervix to smear. Vaginal vault smears are only meant for people who had their cervix removed because of cancerous cells. x
